Introducting Peanut...

We have been feeding the squirrels off our back porch for at least 5 years. It started with Mama Squirrel who still comes on most days for handful after handful of peanuts (and occassionally cashews because she's our favorite!). Mama has brought her babies over the years because she trusts us. She even eats out of our hand, and has come into the house a time or two to follow us to the peanut canister.

Today's picture is of "Peanut" who I usually just call "Baby Squirrel". I had a tough time photographing him through the open door holding Max back. Max has not yet figured out the "family code" of not chasing our pet squirrels. Allee our cat knows better but Max has not learned the rules yet.
So here is Peanut... he's a cutie.

I could try to catch up...but that will never happen!

I have been taking my daily pictures but honestly sometimes life just is busy! Editing and posting just didn't happen! But I'm going to try to get back on track but if I had to post all the pictures that I missed that just would never happen so I'm just going to start from the last 2 days and see where it takes me!

Here is Monday March 7... Max in all his growing up "puppiness". We have decided that he is not is definifinetly feeling "not so miniature! But he is cute! He makes us laugh every day and that's a good thing!

And on Tuesday, March 8... the removing of the braces! Yeah! Definitely photo worthy!

Chili on a cold day... YUM...

Everyone could use a good chili recipe... something you throw in the crockpot in the morning, and when you come home at the end of the day your kitchen smells great and dinner is ready!

The "Hubby" calls this Truckstop Chili... I call it easy!

Here's the recipe - because I love to share a good thing:
(By the way you can make it spicy like me ... or if you don't like spicy substitute the tomotoes with chilies for regular and the spicy sausage for regular ... or change it to hamburger).

RECIPE:

1 can chili beans (undrained)
2 cans black beans (drained and rinsed)
2 cans tomatoes with green chilies
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 tsp chili powder
1 lb Hot sausage
1 medium onion (diced)

Brown sausage... add onion and cook with sausage until tender. In crockpot add 3 cans of beans, cream of mushroom soup, and chili powder. Mix well. Add sausage and onions. Cook in crockpot all day.

I serve with salad and garlic bread to a happy family on a cold day! Enjoy!

Eyelashes - Courtest of Dad...

Beautiful... Truly...

Puppy Love...

Attached at the hip... he let's me know when it's time for her to get up in the morning... and loves it when it's time for her to come home from school.

Summertime can't come soon enough for this sweet puppy and his favorite friend!

She Shoots...

Practice for our school team... with Dad as coach... there's nothing more to say than "it's a good thing"!

Big Saturday Happenings

Sometimes a day comes along that you know is incredibly special. That was my Saturday. I started off going to the Seahawk/Saints Playoff game with my fabulous hubby. What an AWESOME game! It was crazy loud... and the Seahawks didn't disappoint, walking away with a stunning victory!

From their Chelsea picked me up and we were off to the Paramount in Seattle to see the Broadway play "Grease". It was high energy and tons of fun! What a full day!

Basketball Season!

I love basketball season... it's probably my favorite time of the year! What I particularly like is watching my tiny daughter practicing at the Academy... and scoring against boys that are much bigger than her! 2 points... oh yes!

Christmas Puppy

There's nothing like a Christmas puppy... here's a shot of my girl and her Miniature Australian Shepherd. It's harder than you can imagine getting a decent shot of the wiggly puppy and an 11 year old girl looking at the camera!

Feeding the soul...

So excited for a new study to start! I had to take a long drive to pick up the study materials - but it was well worth it! There's nothing like studying God's word with a group of women that you love!

External Flash

One of my goals this year is to learn how to use my External flash (430 EXII). Yesterday I took this picture at dusk. I can see a number of things wrong with it... but one thing right... I tried! AND... it is a memory captured of my sweet girl who is growing too quickly. I'll take it!

My Only Model...

Sometimes you have to be OK with the fact that the only model in the house is your cat... and even she is not happy about it!

A Cute Girl and a Sassy Hat!

Who could resist snapping a quick shot when your daughter puts on a sassy hat...especially sideways? Adorable!

Welcome to my 365 Blog!

Welcome to my 365 blog... attempting to capture 365 pictures... of my daily joys in unique ways. Hopefully this will increase my photography skills but even better - it will freeze moments of my family life we would have otherwise missed!

I almost missed Day 1... but remembered after dark so I threw on my external flash and grabbed a quick shot of our newest member of the family. So here's Max!
